Cows
The barns of ID Agro distinguish themselves from the usual cattle housing systems in a number of ways. The barns are based on the ‘foil arch construction’ used in the agricultural sector.
The steel frame, of which crucial part such as supports and crossbeams are thermally submerged, form the basis for the superstructure of the Cow Lounge. The roofing consists of one or two layers of synthetic foil covered with a shadow cloth. The barn can be delivered with a closed and a (movable) open ridge. The fronts of the barn are built up out a low turning wall with a wind breaking mesh or ventilation curtain on top of that. Our ventilation systems can be delivered in fixed, manually controlled and fully automated form. If desired, the front can also be made from different materials.
Be applying prefabrication the barn can be, compared to a traditional barn, quickly placed. Furthermore, the barn can, at a later stage, be easily extended by lengthening the existing tunnels or by adding a new tunnel. In principle, the superstructure of the Cow Lounge can be applied to both a closed floor as a (cellar plan). Application to a cellar plan may, however, require some improvisation.
The construction of the Cow Lounge is calculated and executed according to the current building standards. In short this means that the Cow lounge is equipped with all the necessary wind ties and that both the construction and the roofing material can withstand the local weather conditions. This makes it possible to ensure the Cow lounge just as well as a traditional barn.
In brief, the construction concept can be described as:
- Innovative
- Welfare enhancing
- Cost price reducing
- Improving working conditions
The Cow lounge is the alternative to considerable reduce your housing expenses. The investment in a Cow lounge is 2/3 to half of the cost price of a common barn, and you will also create the possibility the speed up your debiting, which will enable to react quickly and accurately to changes in your environment. The Cow lounge offers a number of other advantages besides the cost advantage. Research, as well as practical experience, have shown the following:
- By using modular construction the Cow lounge can be placed in a short time frame compared to a traditional barn. In addition, your existing Cow lounge can be easily enlarged.
- By using roofing material that lets through light, the cows, pigs and goats experience the changing weather conditions more consciously. This has an immediate impact on the hormones of the animals, which subsequently increases fertilisation results and (milk) production. For goats it also means that the lambing can occur in a more spread manner out than in a traditional barn.
- The intake of food increases when there is more light above the trough.
- The high amount of light that passes through the transparent roofing material adds to the well-being of your livestock.
- Because a large part of the daily activities are carried out inside the barn, the clarity of the Cow lounge has a positive influence on the working condition.
